My Story
This mission is deeply personal to me. At the age of 30, I became a single mother. Like many women, I never imagined that I would one day be raising a child on my own. Suddenly, I found myself carrying the full responsibility of providing, nurturing, protecting, and guiding my child alone.
There was a season in my life when everything seemed to fall apart at once. I lost my job. My business closed down. The income I depended on disappeared, and I was left wondering how I would move forward. It was one of the most difficult periods of my life.As I struggled to rebuild, I began meeting other single mothers in my community. Some were raising two children. Others were raising five or more. Many had experienced abandonment, loss, domestic violence, poverty, or circumstances beyond their control.
Listening to their stories changed me. I realized that while my struggles were real, many women were carrying burdens far heavier than my own. I met mothers who worried daily about where the next meal would come from. Mothers who had sacrificed everything for their children. Mothers who had lost hope and felt forgotten.
Their stories broke my heart.
One thing I learned is that not every woman chooses single motherhood. Instead, many find themselves in that situation because of circumstances they never planned for or wanted. Yet, they continue to fight for their children every single day. Because of this, I believe these women deserve more than survival; they deserve dignity, opportunity, and hope. That is why this vision was born.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see vulnerable single mothers in Uganda empowered spiritually, emotionally, and economically so that they can build stable families and live lives of dignity and purpose.We believe lasting transformation begins from the inside out. When a woman’s spirit is strengthened, her confidence grows. When her confidence grows, she is empowered to rebuild her life and create a better future for her children.
Our Three Pillars of Impact
1. Spiritual Empowerment and Biblical Encouragement
This is the foundation of everything we do. Many single mothers carry emotional wounds, rejection, shame, fear, and discouragement. Financial support alone cannot heal these deeper struggles.Through biblical principles, prayer, discipleship, mentorship, and community support, we want to help women rediscover their God-given value, purpose, and hope.
We envision creating opportunities for:
- Prayer and spiritual support
- Bible study and discipleship groups
- Mentorship and encouragement
- Family strengthening programs
- Emotional healing and personal growth
- Leadership development grounded in biblical values
We believe that when hope is restored, lives begin to change.
2. Financial Empowerment
Economic independence is essential for long-term stability.Our goal is to equip single mothers with practical skills and opportunities that enable them to provide for their families with confidence and dignity.
Programs will include:
- Entrepreneurship training
- Vocational and practical skills development
- Financial literacy education
- Savings and investment groups
- Small business support
- Mentorship and networking opportunities
Rather than creating dependency, we want to create pathways to sustainable income and self-reliance.
3. Emergency Support
Life’s unexpected crises can push vulnerable families deeper into hardship. We aim to establish a community support system that can respond to urgent needs such as:
- Food assistance
- Medical emergencies
- School-related emergencies
- Temporary crisis support
- Family intervention services
By helping families through critical moments, we can provide stability while longer-term solutions are being developed.
Starting Small, Building Strong
Our immediate goal is to establish and register a Community-Based Organization (CBO) that will serve single mothers within our local community.
We believe meaningful impact starts at the grassroots level. By serving one community well, we can build a model that can eventually reach many more women and families across Uganda.
We Are Looking for Founding Partners
We are currently gathering our first founding partners to help bring this vision to life and raise the initial support needed to launch.
The seed funding we raise will help us:
- Register the Community-Based Organization
- Establish governance and accountability systems
- Develop pilot programs for single mothers
- Build local partnerships with churches and community leaders
- Create sustainable programs that produce measurable impact
